It is from ‘the grave of a Princess’ at Deir el Bahari Wooden servant figurines were included in tombs to provide the deceased with provisions in the afterlife and to do their work for them. This reflected real life, where those who could afford it employed others to work in the house and on their land. This figure could represent a boatman, as they rowed sitting down.
