This is a heart scarab with the 64th Chapter of the Book of the Dead incised in hieroglyphs.

This object is from Egypt but the exact location is unknown. The ancient Egyptians thought that the heart was the most important organ in the body, and that it held the memory of a person’s life. So it was the heart that was tested to determine whether a person was fit to live forever in the Afterlife. The heart scarab and Chapter 64 of the Book of the Dead ensured that the heart passed the test. This is a heart scarab with the 64th Chapter of the Book of the Dead incised in hieroglyphs. It is made from stone (steatite). It is over 3,300 years old, dating to the 18th, 19th or 20th Dynasty (1550 – 1295 BCE) in the New Kingdom.
