This is a fish hook.

It is from Egypt but the exact location is unknown. Egyptians used nets and traps or pens to catch fish for food. Angling was more for enjoyment than for food. A man (probably a wealthy man with a fishpond in his garden) could sit with a fishing rod and enjoy his sport. Fish hooks were made of bone, and later of metal. This is a fish hook. It is made from a copper alloy. It is between 3,300 and 3,500 years old, dating to the 18th Dynasty (1550-1295 BCE) in the New Kingdom.
