This is an Anubis amulet.
This object is from Egypt but the exact location is unknown. Anubis was a god of the dead and guardian of the necropolis. He was also associated with embalming and mummification, and is often shown mummifying a body. Anubis had the head of a jackal. Perhaps this link with a wild dog was to protect the dead against being disturbed and eaten by jackals. An amulet of Anubis would probably have been given to the dead for protection, but not worn by the living. This is an Anubis amulet. It is made from bronze. We do not know how old this object is.
