This is a mallet.
It is from Egypt but the exact location is unknown. Stoneworkers (and woodworkers) used heavy wooden mallets with copper alloy chisels to shape the stone they were working on. Stoneworkers employed by the state were issued with tools from a central store. This is obviously a very new mallet, hardly used, in contrast to the very worn one beside it. This is a mallet. It is made from wood. It is between 4,620 and 4,700 years old, dating to the 3rd Dynasty (2686-2613 BCE) in the Old Kingdom.
