This is a mirror.
It is from grave S172 at Saft el-Hinna (Goshen). The ancient Egyptians made mirrors from polished metal, usually a copper alloy. The highly polished and reflective metal mirror was fitted with a handle. This is a mirror. The mirror is made from copper alloy, and the handle (not on display) is made from ivory. It is about 3,400 years old, dating to the 18th Dynasty (about 1550-1295 BCE) in the New Kingdom.
