This is a figurine of the god Osiris.
It is from Saqqara. Osiris was one of the most important deities of ancient Egypt. He was associated with death, resurrection and fertility. The ram’s horns on his headdress link the god with the ram, a symbol of power and fecundity that reflected the powers of rebirth of Osiris.Egyptians gave small statues like this as offerings to the gods at the temples. Most of the statuettes date from the Third Intermediate Period or later, making the oldest about 3,000 years old. This is a figurine of the god Osiris. It is made from a copper alloy.
