This is a chisel.
It is from Ghurab. Chisels were held in the hand and struck with a wooden mallet. Different chisels had different functions, such as wood or stone working tools. There are two main types used for dressing stone. A flat chisel was for cutting into a surface, while a round bar chisel was for flattening the surface. This is a chisel. It is made from a copper alloy. It is between 3,300 and 3,600 years old, dating to the 18th Dynasty (1550-1295 BCE) in the New Kingdom.
