This vessel is made from two joined pots.

It is from Grave B225 at El Amra. Many pots have been excavated, undamaged, from tombs, showing the range of pottery made and used. This small pot with a painted decoration of boats and birds may have been made especially for burial, or it may have been a household pot used for burial. This vessel is made from two joined pots. It is made from clay. It is between 5,100 and 7,500 years old, dating to the Pre-Dynastic Period (5500-3100 BCE).
