This is a votive statue of the goddess Bastet.
We do not know where this object is from. Bastet was a cat goddess associated with motherly protection. Cats were associated with fecundity,and so Bastet was worshipped as a goddess of fertility. She was often shown with kittens at her feet. A woman wanting children might offer such a votive statue to the goddess to ensure she became pregnant. This is a votive statue of the goddess Bastet. It is made from a copper alloy. It is over 2,500 years old, dating to the 26th Dynasty (664-525 BCE) in the Late Period.
