This is carved slab showing a husband, wife and son.

It is from Dendara. This is a block from a mastaba tomb. It shows a family group, with the wife standing behind her husband, as wives are usually shown in Egyptian art. The inscription reads ‘The sole companion Shenet’, sole companion being a title given to officials and courtiers. This is carved slab showing a husband, wife and son. It is carved in stone. It is over 4,000 years old, dating to the 7th-11th Dynasties (2181-2055 BCE) in the First Intermediate Period.
