This is a stone mace head.

It is from Egypt but the exact location is unknown. The Egyptian soldier could use a mace, slingstone, spear, bow and arrow, axe or knife against the enemy. The mace is one of the oldest wespons in the world. The stone head was fitted securely to a wooden haft. The weight of the stone, especially when used at close quarters, made it a very effective weapon. This is a stone mace head. It is made from limestone. It is about 5.000 years old, dating to the 1st Dynasty (3100-2890 BCE) in the Early Dynastic Period.
